SSI Poll on homepage not logging votes to the forum on subdomain

I recently put my forum on a subdomain, forum. , and my homepage is at www.

I have a poll on the homepage using ssi_showPoll().  When a user votes, it doesn't log the vote and the function redirects to the homepage.  I looked at the pollVote function but I am not sure what is triggering the redirect.

Nothing shows up in the error log.
Enable local storage of cookies = unchecked
Use subdomain independent cookies = checked

Any ideas?
