He never said anything was wrong with the dev team at all, but they do have real life things going on too, and might need to move on eventually. That's the way I understand Nao's post...
And that's what I meant.
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

I take it the RC4 is in the works as moving forward or is taking a break?
"There is no god, and that's the simple truth. If every trace of any single religion were wiped out and nothing were passed on, it would never be created exactly that way again. There might be some other nonsense in its place, but not that exact nonsense. If all of science were wiped out, it would still be true and someone would find a way to figure it all out again."

More than likely SMF 2.0 final is next just a few remaining bugs.

I had heard from a number of notable voices that an RC4 was very likely.

The session check has been removed for a few GET requests though, for example on the requests for the quick quote buttons and the 'add poll' button. The reason behind this is that those requests don't manipulate data -- therefore they do not need the check The forms they link to will require a check on submit, though! :)

Interesting. I actually left that in when adding the same function into SimpleDesk, since while I entirely see where you're coming from, Aaron, I don't think it hurts to have that be checked, but I agree it's not a *risk* to remove. I'd just rather be paranoid than lax :)

The decision belongs to the Lead Developer, afaik.
That said, the team is informed about the status and for all we know, it is most likely Gold will be next, once the remaining bugs are fixed (and there are no more new ones found, I suppose :) ).
To-do lists are for deferral. The more things you write down the later they're done... until you have 100s of lists of things you don't do.

It being there was actually reported to us, as it increases the chances of a malicious script finding the session id. I believe that's the main reason for it being removed. :)

Mods was vanished, and needed to be re-installed manually.
Other than that, the improvements are good so far.

Thank You SMF

I'm sure the upgrade guide does actually say that is totally expected behaviour. No release prior to final can be upgraded without losing mods.
