Setting preferences for converted members

We're converting from other forum software and in a test run the conversion worked flawlessly. There's just one area where I think we could have issues, and that pertains to certain preferences in the user profile. For example, the choice "Receive reply notification only for the first unread reply" is selected for converted members. This wasn't even an option in our old software, so people expect to receive notifications for all unread replies, not just the first one. Likewise, the conversion process checks the box to receive announcements by email, which may be contrary to members' wishes. Is there an easy way to change these settings, either as part of the conversion process when we run it a final time, or after the fact?
