Boundless Pain

Greetings,

I'm very new to SMF and have a question.  I've seen people use SMF forums as their main site page, where it displays a specific thread as the site.  The best example I can link is hxxp:mmo-champion.com [nonactive]; I've seen others but can't find them at the moment.

Basically I'm wondering what software I need in order to accomplish this, is it just SMF or do I need an CMS portal?

Thanks much,
Tim

Hey there!
You can use more means to achieve this.
One is to use yourself (if you want to delve a bit into code) a little code to grab the thread from SMF and display it on your main page.
For this you may want to use SSI: http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=400

If you don't want that, or not have a home page yet (or simply to get you started), you might find it much better and handy to use a portal mod. You can find them here: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/ searching for 'portal'.
To-do lists are for deferral. The more things you write down the later they're done... until you have 100s of lists of things you don't do.
