Arantor

When you're going through the cpanel, are you sure you're not editing index.template.php~ by accident?

tommybishop

absolutely positive sir.

Arantor

Then there's something wrong with your server because it isn't saving the file.

tommybishop

well, i can download the file from the server, and it has the changes in it... it's just not showing up on the forum.  I can also look at the file directly on the server and see the little bit of img coding... it's only not showing up at the top of the forum.

Arantor

That's the thing. It doesn't show up in the HTML source of the page either, so it's not like it's just obscured by something else - somehow it's being removed between being output by the template and getting to your browser.

Try it without the <center> tags for now.

tommybishop

ok took out the center tags still not working.. attaching current version of index.template.php

i have to say thank you for the time you've spent with me on this.  It's driving me nuts :o lol

Arantor

I added the <img> code to mine and it worked just fine. So you must have something else that's conflicting, but I have absolutely no idea what the problem is :(

smp420

You are still missing a }
After the code you added
"Things turn out best for those who make the best of the way things turn out." -Jack Buck

Arantor

It was there in the previous file.

tommybishop

would a list of the mods i have installed help arantor?

@smp, yeah it's been there... i believe arantor actually suggested replacing the curly bracket with the regular bracket but it didn't do anything.

i see what arantor is saying, there's something else conflicting with it for one reason or another i just can't fathom what would be doing so. lol

tommybishop

HOORAAH!!  None of this was even really neccessarry, ill let you know what i did for anyone else that ever has this problem... even though it's going to make me look like a fool...

The base directory for all my themes.. for some reason wasn't set to the right directory.  I never changed it so i don't know what happened... but it's fixed!  thank you so much for all your help I really do appreciate it.
