block PMs

Looking forward for an option for user to have an option to block private messages.
I have many users complain about people flooded their PM them to ask  "a/s/l" which they are getting annoying ,if there was a way they can block all incomming PMs

Try putting a * in the ignore list in the pm bit of the profile. No idea if it will work.

Odd, it should do, the text suggests that a * will block all messages.

I tested and * does work.  However if the sender is an admin it ignores the block (which is probably by design).

I know this was an oldie, but I experimented with using * to block PMs on RC2.

The admin and Global mod were able to get through. Moderators were not.

It would be interesting to see where in the code this happens, and see if it would be relatively easy to change a line or two to permit moderators to get through the block.

I will pursue this on my own as an educational project, but don't hold your breath. Feel free to jump the gun and offer up your solutions here.
