Hi, I own a gaming community forum, and I'm in need of forum rank names. These names HAVE to do with gaming (PC, Xbox 360, PS3, etc.).

What are your ideas?

What's your domain name? Do you have one?

Jakob Fel

Yes, you are fine. :) I thought of some cool names.

In place of Newbie, say NOOB
Jr. Member = Jr. Gamer
Full Member = Serious Gamer
Sr. Member = Oldskool Gamer
Hero Member = 0wn@ge Gamer

Feel free to use them as you wish, unless you hate them. ;)

It's getting there, but I'd like more than 5.

Jakob Fel

Oh okay, then how many ones do you want?

A LOT. :D

Also, do you know where I can find some rank images/icons?

Jakob Fel

Unfortunately, I can't really think of many more, but about the rank images, you could try making a badge about 100 x 17 pixels, and just making a base color, and type the name of the rank on it. If you need some help, I could make a base one for you.

If it's not much work, would you mind making me a cool looking base image? :D

Jakob Fel

Sure, but it could be a short wait, because I am really busy trying to get my schoolwork for the year, done.

Liam.

Actually replacing it with "NOOB" can seem quite... Well... Annoying to a new user, and it's incorrect. Newbie and Noob are actually different things.

NOOB is the short word for Newbie. It is used in many online gaming communities, but people use it as an insult. (Personally, I don't see how it can be... I don't take offense to it.)

Anyone want to make me a base image for the ranks?

Jakob Fel

I thought you asked me to do one, and I said if I got the time, that I would. I could whip up a quick-but-crappy badge, which you could customize, using GIMP or whatever graphics program you use.

Military ranks usually go very well with clan/game based forums.

So true, I have SMF for Free, and they have a preset list of rank images. Some of the included were military, professional, and World of Warcraft type badges.
