Hi all,

i'm currently user of the smf 1.1.11.
I just try (in test) upgrade to smf v2 RC3

All is good.

I see that in default theme " SMF Default Theme - Core" the column "Started by" disappeared, to be replace by a line under the topic title.

I don't like this layout, is it possible to go back to column for display "Started by" information ?

Thanks for your help.

BoxingChaos

Do you really need to use the CORE theme? It's ugly and outdated IMO. I just tried it on my forum and you are right, the Started by, does not show, but that is the only theme this happens with. Why don't you switch to at least the SMF Default Curve? Or just find a nice theme that supports the CURVE? I have my core theme disabled. Not sure if you have your heart set on the core theme or not.

No problem for try Curve theme but just after a fresh upgrade, i don't have it. Just :
SMF Default Theme - Core (default, like in 1.1.11)
Classic YaBB SE Theme
Babylon Theme

Why it don't appear and why is not by default ?

Thanks a lot for your quick reply

I misunderstood this post then. I thought he said that the column appeared with Curve.

Large upgrade.

Something is really wrong , about the theme name.

But the theme is working fine as curve details and once again we don't have separate column for "started by" in curve theme.

i remember i helped someone in making that column but forgot the thread . (if i found the post i'll surely post here).

Yes exactly !
(Maybe just make the column a little less wide, but for layout it's perfect)

Joker™

To make the column go to

Can you please update this for 2.0 Gold?  :D

The code appears to have changed since this thread was created. Or is there an updated thread available?

I can do all the edits besides the first one:

Code (Find) Select

<th scope="col" class="smalltext"><a href="', $scripturl, '?board=', $context['current_board'], '.', $context['start'], ';sort=subject', $context['sort_by'] == 'subject' && $context['sort_direction'] == 'up' ? ';desc' : '', '">', $txt['subject'], $context['sort_by'] == 'subject' ? ' <img src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/sort_' . $context['sort_direction'] . '.gif" alt="" />' : '', '</a> / <a href="', $scripturl, '?board=', $context['current_board'], '.', $context['start'], ';sort=starter', $context['sort_by'] == 'starter' && $context['sort_direction'] == 'up' ? ';desc' : '', '">', $txt['started_by'], $context['sort_by'] == 'starter' ? ' <img src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/sort_' . $context['sort_direction'] . '.gif" alt="" />' : '', '</a></th>

Code (Replace) Select

<th scope="col" class="smalltext"><a href="', $scripturl, '?board=', $context['current_board'], '.', $context['start'], ';sort=subject', $context['sort_by'] == 'subject' && $context['sort_direction'] == 'up' ? ';desc' : '', '">', $txt['subject'], $context['sort_by'] == 'subject' ? ' <img src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/sort_' . $context['sort_direction'] . '.gif" alt="" />' : '', '</a></th>
<th scope="col" class="smalltext" width="15%"><a href="', $scripturl, '?board=', $context['current_board'], '.', $context['start'], ';sort=starter', $context['sort_by'] == 'starter' && $context['sort_direction'] == 'up' ? ';desc' : '', '">', $txt['started_by'], $context['sort_by'] == 'starter' ? ' <img src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/sort_' . $context['sort_direction'] . '.gif" alt="" />' : '', '</a></th>

The only similar code I could find is:

// Are there actually any topics to show?
if (!empty($context['topics']))
{
echo '

';desc' : '', '">', $txt['started_by'], $context['sort_by'] == 'starter' ? ' <img src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/sort_' . $context['sort_direction'] . '.gif" alt="" />' : '', '</a></th>
