Extra info on registration

Hi all

Not sure how best i can do this or if there is a mod available ....but when we have a new member sign up we want them to have to post a new topic in our "introduction area" before they can do anything else on the site and also is there an option to add extra info on  the registration page ie how they found us etc
Because as we are a site for gamers to chat and have fun on the forums as well as there console or PC we also would like that when they register we would know what games they play etc so we can assign them the right member group straight away

I am thinking of installing the Ultimate Profile mod but thats ok for after they have joined but some members dont know there way around forums when they 1st join

Forum is SMF 2.0 RC3
