Simple Audio Video Embedder

What am I doing wrong? I have installed this mod but don't know it what or in what form I need to put a url or html code to imbed a facebook video. I have pasted a facebook imbed code into a post and get nothing, I have tried the facebook url of the video and nothing.

I did that already. Sorry I should have said that. But what do I do. Do I put the video url from facebook in the post or do I put the video imbed url in the post. BTW i do have the allow html code in posts enabled. I also tried it with the convert web address to link enabled as well. but nothing works.

It should just be the URL to the video. Try with a YouTube video. Use the direct link to the video page, the one provided as the share URL. Try both the short and "long" URL versions. If that works, it's either something with the Facebook videos or the way the URL is being formatted for them.

This is very weird, but I find when using IE that a lot of the videos don't appear. (??)

Firefox works fine, they all appear, all the time. But with IE nearly all of the videos are missing, with just a red 'x' shown.

Is this a browser setting, or....? Anyone else seeing this?

I'm seeing this on the athesitroundtable.com site, in the videos section. For example, this URL:

Works perfectly in Firefox, but not at all in IE. (??)

Hmm that's the same version I am running on Windows Seven 64bit.

Are you running any IE plugins or have a custom security level setting?

I don't think so...the security slider is set to 'medium-high', but setting it to low doesn't appear to make any difference.

The weird part is that in IE, some videos do work, like this one:

does this mod in anyway shape or form know what the server download limits are?

Im using the 'local" option ( embeding local files )

the mod works embeding small sized vid files..but any video over 5 megs doesnt load.

hmm...okay.

any idea why ( for local files only- any format - flv,avi,wmv ) it will only load and play files under 3 megs?

i thought it was the upload file size, but you stated it doesnt matter..I even increased the upload file size to 128 megs.

i can upload a vid file up to 128 as an attachment..but the mod wont play any file over 3 megs.

any idea why?

THATS THE FUNNY PART
I have taken the multiple files, and converted in in multiple formats.

Ive tried an FLV,  ( uses the flash player that came with the mod ) ive tried WMV and AVI
( uses windows media player)

now Ive done this for files under 3 megs ( it embeds and plays fine )

but when done with files OVER 3 megs, the corresponding players load but the file wont play.

by any chance, what file would i need to edit so that when an avi/wmv is loaded..the the window media play DOES NOT auto play the file?

any wmv/avi file that loads in WMP auto plays in internet explorer ( not firefox )

i would be happy with that particular fix..not really worried about the larger files not playing.

I FIXED IT!!!!!!

If i disable all the other platforms EXCEPT the local files option..it works.

extremely strange.

im happy, im only interested in embedding local files.

now, if only you can point me in the right direction as to what file to edit so that WMV doesnt auto play the file ( it does it only in IE , not FIREFOX) i would be the happiest man on earth , lol

All the player code is stored in the database I believe.
