Where can I find the options or settings in the admin panel? I do not see it anywhere after I installed it. Under the packages page it is their as installed.

vbgamer45

It should be in the main admin area and have it's own link called Simple Audio Video Embeder.

Hi.

I feel kinda stupid asking.... but.... here goes.

I just installed this, set the checks next to the videos sites in the Admin panel, and copied/pasted a video from YouTube to see how this works.

... I'm sure I'm missing something simple cuz I just see the text I pasted.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=2iby0PP9lRM

and

<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2iby0PP9lRM?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2iby0PP9lRM?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360"></object>

I'm guessing there should be some sort of automatic 'thingy' that embeds it? Or... some tag I'm supposed to use?

Again, I feel stupid for asking... but appreciate the help for this Noob!

Only the link would autoembed

k... so the object code I can forget about and just focus on the link.

With that said. It just appears as a link. Isn't it supposed to display the video in the forum and not leave the site?

(sorry, this is totally new to me...)

Ohhh.. I see. The URL is the key.

http://youtu.be/2iby0PP9lRM

Works just fine.  I was using the wrong URL for this.

Thanks....

Still, I feel stupid. :)

I have version 2.02 installed for a while now and I just saw a error in my server logs that probably has something to do with this mod.

"File does not exist: /home/unitedtu/public_html/crossdomain.xml"

Do I just make a crossdomain.xml and install it in my root?

if so does it go's like this?

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "http://www.adobe.com/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd">
<cross-domain-policy>
<site-control permitted-cross-domain-policies="master-only"/>
<allow-access-from domain="*.ridedualsport.com"/>
<allow-access-from domain="www.ridedualsport.com"/>
<allow-http-request-headers-from domain="*.adobe.com" headers="SOAPAction"/>
</cross-domain-policy>

crossdomain.xml is a flash file not required you can make an empty one if needed.

That would not work, as the v id is at the end......... :-(

How I can make it work with? [youtube] hxxp:www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXHkJpR4ZdU [nonactive] [/ youtube]

Hi, how does this differ from 'Embed flash into posts' SMF option?
Is this more secure?

Thanks.

vbgamer45

It embeds media sites flash is just a flash movie that you have.

I thought we could embed any youtube (or other site - not sure) movie using:
[flash=800,600]http://www.youtube.com/v/<movieid>[/flash]

Am I missing something?

Sorry vbgamer, maybe I was not clear.
What I am trying to say is that without the mod and just with flash enabled, the youtube embedding works in vanilla SMF.

[flash=800,600]http://www.youtube.com/v/<movieid>[/flash]

Does it now? I was under the impression that the flash code needed a URL directly to a SWF, which the normal YT video links don't offer.
