how do I add stars along with using this --rank_flower.png--

I have this  set  to 1000  posts for a member--   rank_flower.png-- how  do  I  add    stars  under  this  as  they  increase  their  posts  before  I  add  golden  member

A bit confused by the question. Do you want to replace the supplied "Stars" with a custom .png file? The stars need to be a .gif file, so you'll need to convert it first.

Upload the .gif file to {theme URL}/images/

then in Admin >> Membergroups >> Edit the post count group and change the name of the star to the name of the new file you uploaded.

You can create extra post count groups to add to the number of stars as the members post more.
