Upgrading 1.1.11 to 2.x

Greetings, just wondering how would one go about updating SMF 1.1.11 to 2.x? I didn't see a converter, or installer designed for this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

try doing a search?

switch to the default theme (1.1.x themes will not work on 2.0)
use the large upgrade pack
ftp the contents, overwriting your existing smf files on your server
run upgrade.php
re-install any mods (make sure they are compatible with 2.0)

I saw the page there as well, but it wasn't entirely clear - maybe under Download SMF 2.0 RC3 > Large upgrade you could have (use this to upgrade from 1.x.x)

My website hxxp:usefulforums.com [nonactive] is undergoing a upgrade now from 1.1.11 to 2.0 RC3. Somehow its taking very lomg time at the step 5 Upgrade template. Is that normal, it almost 20 mins at this step? Kindly let me know if its normal

The "upgrade template" is problematic.

It TRIES to upgrade the 1.1.x themes, but is probably won't work.

Thanks. It worked for me. had little trouble with menu though. Its also fine now.
