How do I do a fresh reinstall?

Well I downloaded a couple bad mods, and I tried to get rid of them but nothing worked. Is it possible to reinstall SMF while keeping all my posts and members?

Just download the large upgrade package from
http://download.simplemachines.org/

Then delete the upgrade.php in the root of your forum.
