redirecting from Godaddy and lost database password...help

I am not an IT person, I do not know what I am doing But my forum is not working any longer....Godaddy has helped me most of the way...but now I think I am on my own...so I must put on my big girl panties and get your help. I had another guy helping me with my forum in the past, he has since bit the dust..and with that..my info. Help..I have given some info to you guys..I can give more...But not sure what I need....I have found the Developers Tools, But I'm not sure what to do with them HELP!  I do not know the database password , but i think I know the rest...I am the creator of the forum, but I made the mistake of letting this friend on board and he changed things.
