Amanda.

Not sure if this is in the right place, if not please can someone move it for me :)

What I want to do is install a second forum into a subdomain, I already have a forum on "domain.com" and I now want to put a separate forum on "subdomain.domain.com".
Is this possible, and if so can someone talk me through how I would make the database separate from the main domain etc.

Many thanks in advance.

create a datebase that has a different name to the original forum...

copy the full download files of SMF into your new directory... and then install... as per normal..

Look in your cpanel to see if you have a facility called Installatron. This gives you various options of software to install including SMF.

Now, don't proceed until someone here who knows more about this has commented but, in theory, Installatron does everything, including creating sub-domains, automatically.

1 - Create a subdomain
2 - Create a new database
3 - Download the latest version of SMF ( 2.0 RC3 ) and upload to sub domain directory
4 - Browse to http://sub-domain.site.com/install.php

Amanda.

Thanks :)
My current forum is located in the root of my domain, and I've already created the subdomain with the document root for that located at /public_html/subdomain.
So are you saying that I can install the second forum directly into that directory and also create a database for it, and it won't do my current forum any harm or disrupt it at all?
