It must be nice, to share this mediawiki skin with other user from mediawiki/smf....

Oldiesmann

Vyored - you will need to make your changes again. Due to something not being set up properly (SleePy's fault :P), all of the changes you made yesterday were made to the English version, so I had to undo them. Thanks for offering to help though :)

As far as who can edit it - the beauty of a wiki is that anyone can edit it. I think it's fine as it is right now, but we will consider changes such as limiting who can edit it if we end up running into trouble in the future. Fortunately, MW is a very powerful script, so there are plenty of ways to help combat abusive edits (protecting pages, blocking individual users from editing things, etc.).

I have also added a little bit of stuff in there, be a bad idea if it was all of sudden cut off from member edits. I like it the way it is.

Hi Oldiesmann, I haven't seen you since LSP. Your working with the SMF project now I can see.

divecall

Me too, count me in !

It would be nice if SOMEBODY have the SMF-MEDIAWIKI-Skin, and share this for this public....i need this !

Thank you in advance

I actually coded the SMF Curve Theme for MediaWiki, and as far as I know, it will eventually be publicly released. There are still quite a few changes needing to be done to the coding. In addition to a couple problems that could happen when it would be redistributed to other installations outside of Simple Machines.

Is it not compatible with SMF 2.0 RC3 ?

The thing is its just a skin, not SMF.

The integration was done by SleePy, however I'm not sure if he would ever release it.

We use a heavily modified version of that extension.  I overhauled it to support some basic session and mw options based caches.  As well changed a few things around and tried to clean it up a bit.  It also now supports non database sessions (which was tricky).

I do intend to release it back the community.

We are still working on translations aspect of the wiki (thats why it hasn't been announced and is in beta testing).  One thing I know right now is that the url won't be changing into other languages at this time.

Thank you for all hard works first... Then i want to ask about permissions ?

SMF Wiki is like normal wikis (which everyone can edit) or just some members (Translators+Mods+SMF Team) only edit ?

Everyone should be able to edit it, for example I just cleaned up the Install docs today.

Ok.
Can i restore the page now?

Everybody can edit it, however till the language problem is sorted out, English only I'm afraid.

I think it'll be a while before other languages will be sorted..imagine genuinely translating all pages.

Not being a dick or something, but does someone have a leak of the Curve theme for MediaWiki?

Ya see, I want to have everything look like my forum; even my wiki (which is hidden from the public)

LMAO, you're asking the people that made the skin if they have a leak? Uh, yeah... I have a leak. You'll have to wait though since it isn't complete and there are a lot of other things which we'd like to complete.

Groundup - I think he was more asking if it was available to the public yet...or anyone in the general public had it.

Yoshi - I do believe I am one of the only people outside of the team that has the code for the theme; which is simply because I was the one who made it :P You'll just have to wait until SMF is ready to release it.

青山 素子

If you're that desperate to have it, build it yourself. The graphic assets can be easily downloaded. You'll just need to adjust the coding and CSS. If you can't do all that, wait for a proper release.

It was actually quite complicated. It wasn't as easy as you'd assume. I would highly suggest just waiting until it's released...which will happen, and it should be shortly. But, good luck to you if you decide to try.

Its not *that* hard, but require some time spent on it. I recently created a MediaWiki version of Curve for a client, and it turned out not so different from SMF wiki one.

I do believe that's illegal without permission from the SMF Team. Because it uses SMF's images.

That might be :) but Curve theme has always been the property of Simple Machines after that, to be used as it wishes. My reasoning behind this Wiki theme was: this was a client which used a Curve default theme on his site, using actively SMF and only wanted a Wiki with the Curve "look" to match that, on his own site only. So it didn't feel as anything betraying that relationshio IMHO. Had it been a public theme for Wiki users generally(which could be used on non-SMF sites too) I would not made it.

Yes, I did make the first draft of it..but note that Curve theme have been molded by many into what it is today. Its coding and graphics that was changed and corrected..many of the current team and several that have left, worked hard on that(and still do lol). I am not so good with perfecting things, like the Curve theme needs(and needed), more of a person trying new things and ideas instead. But I am very happy it became of use for SMF and now also used within MediaWiki.

Ehm...thanks lol :)

My personal hope is that more people hook into SMF and dare to do new and exciting things with themes. Its been somewhat slow past year, lets hope 2011 will change that. I'll certainly try to do my bit of it. :D

You signed the CLAs same as the rest of us, presumably, which grants you the right to use your work how you see fit as well as giving the irrevocable right to do the same to SMF.

Any news on this?

Will it be permitted to use the theme on non-SMF sites?

Once SMF hits 2.0 final, the theme should be able to be released. Although changes are being done to the theme.
