new installation and existing data base

I have installed SMF 2.0 RC3  bt due to a error i installed it again
now when user login it says that "User does not exists" while all data of all users is available in database tables "members"
so tel how can I use my last existing Data base with new installation
I hv also backup.
plz help me.

you say 'existing database' is this db compatible with the 2.xx series?

Hi mudassar, do you still need assistance on this? If you do, please let us know how exactly did you reinstall?

It may be that your new install is using a different database or prefix, and you might be able to simply point it to the old one
from the forum's settings.
