Fatal Error at end of installation.

Originally I had the blank page issue and fixed that by searching on the net for a solution. Then I made a MySQL database and it went through that fine. But when I got to the next part I get this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function setLoginCookie() in /home/wiccan/public_html/forum/install.php on line 1082

I am now confused as to what I should do to get it to work properly.

It seems like some files are corrupted.

What version are you trying to install and how did you try to install it? Did you use webinstaller or an ftp client to upload the files?

Hello! I was trying to install version 1-1-11. Originally I tried to upload it using an FTP client and the install.php said it had 0 bytes of info. I went to the Cpanel on web host and uploaded it that way (only the install.php file)  and I was then able to get to the install.php. I was able to give the install the MySQL info and then it went to making a log in for the SMF forums and when I clicked continue it gave me the original error code in my original post. Should I just delete all the files and re-upload it using Cpanel as my upload?

Yes, or upload the files with your ftp client again. Were you using FileZilla? It has an issue with transfer settings that could corrupt files during the upload. See here for more info:

Yes, I was using FileZilla. It was set to "Auto" when it uploaded. It is a free host. (heliohost) Maybe I ought to try a different FTP program and get back to you.

Thank you.  I tried CuteFTP and it did the same thing with the files being 0 bytes. Maybe it is just the hosting place. If I wanted to upload it using cPanel it would take me like a year since you can only do one file at a time.

The problem with free hosts is that because of the huge amount of connections, ftp connections tend to time out from time to time.

Is there no way to upload and extract a zip file from your cPanel?
