Looks awesome. Any plans to update to RC4?
It is fully compatible for RC4, but you need to use version emulation to install it for now, or download the mod, extract it, and edit  package-info.xml for RC4, then rezip it and upload it to your package folder on your host.  It is far easier to just use version emulation until S3NTYN3L has the time to make the edits himself though.  :)

Thanks for the quick response :) Didn't know I could do that, thanks!

what about a shorten link option, to truly hidden it?

but, anyway, great mod! :)
Ill use it in the near future...

S3NTYN3L

Thanks all!  ;D
Glad you're enjoying this!

Hiya busterone! ;D

I'll get right on it.

I'll look into it when I come off the road.
(I'm a truck driver... :-[)

luuuciano

what?
8-/
you do not have a netbook??

(lol, just kidding... great effort! awesome)

(btw, about the shorten link option... the sad side of that is that you will never know when the shortener closes their doors...)

I updated the package so it should install in all four SMF flavors currently available. ;)

No, I'm on my laptop right now, sitting in my truck.
Haxored  the wifi at the truck stop, lol...

I don't think I need to go through a shortening service like tinyurl.
I should be able to shorten it entirely via php... :-\

Hi - just to let you know I had problems with your BBC image. It was showing ok in Firefox but not IE. To get it to show I had to alter it slightly and reupload it. I tried viewing the image direct. It works ok now. This was a problem for my members using IE.

S3NTYN3L

Alter it slightly?
In what way?

I don't see how a simple gif image would work fine in Fx but not IE... :-\

SteveW

I left the size as 16 x 16 but modified it by altering colour slightly and resaving the gif. It made the file smaller as well and now works. I have just done a renistall of it and it did the same and I uploaded my modified version and it worked.

This is the one that is now working:
http://www.alienexistence.com/Themes/Blue_Moonlight_SMF2/images/bbc/lmgtfy.gif

This is the one that doesn't when installing the MOD as default: (I have changed the name slightly so you can see it)
http://www.alienexistence.com/Themes/Blue_Moonlight_SMF2/images/bbc/lmgtfy2.gif

It shows ok here as I am using Firefox - when you view the second link in IE it doesn't work and gives a red x

Understood.
Apparently, IE doesn't like me simply changing file extensions.

Anywho, I've corrected the gif issue and will update the download shortly.

Nice Mod thank you for it, I'm sick and tired of being a human Google interface to many friends, so this comes very handy :)

One observation: if I add öäå ÖÄÅ characters in the link it does not work too well with lmgtfy.com

If I write: Tämä on testi, whis is This is a test in Finnish

The link looks like this: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=T%E4m%E4%20on%20testi
when it should look like this: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Tämä+on+testi

I know that it is basically the same thing but with the first one lmgtfy just complains about javascript not being enabled

S3NTYN3L

Perhaps you don't have UTF-8 installed/enabled on your forum?

I just installed the LMGTFY mod on a fresh 2.0 RC4 install.
I was able to reproduce your issue.
Upon installing UTF-8 English, the issue went away...

One caveat, however:
Any existing Cyrillic text posts get converted to after installing the UTF-8 version of your language.
You'll need to rewrite them...

You highlight any text in a post then click the LMGTFY button and it creates this:

I assume you did read the first post in this thread?
