From SMF 1.1.11 to SMF 2 RC4

Hello everyone!

I am running a SFM 1.1.11 and I would like to convert it to the SMF 2 RC4 version.

Is it possible to do it without losing all posts, topics, users, and PMs?

Hello there.

Although today smf realised 2.0 RC-4 version, i suggest to upgrade to that version, as the latest.
You must do large upgrade, by downloading smf 2.0 rc4 large upgrade pack, and overwrite all files from server with it. After that you should run upgrade.php file to complete upgrade process.

Also, remember to always have a fresh backup of all files from server, and database backup as well, expecially in your case, when upgrading from 1.x to 2.x versions.

And be sure to check for versions of the mods that you currently use for the 2.0 branch.  If they aren't updated yet, they will be fairly soon.  Of course they will all have to be reinstalled.  Themes for 1.x will not work with 2.0 either.
