Another Error Installing 1.1.12 Upgrade

Since I am not as Tech Savvy as most of the folks here, I am afraid to proceed with the install. What should I do?

Get this:

Upload it into your Packages directory. Then, go Package Manager and apply it.

Being a good admin, you WILL backup, first, won't you?

I got the patch as you directed. I then uploaded it to my Packages directory. I went to Package Manager to apply and got the same error message.

you will need to manually apply the patch to that file, do you have any mods on your forum?

What that error means, is that the edit it wants to make can't be fulfilled, because the line of code that it's looking for has been changed.

Most likely by a mod.

If you look through the edits, here:

You'll be able to make the edit that fails, manually.

You might be surprised.

Those edits scared the ****** out of me, first time I did any.

As long as you keep a copy of the original file, in case you screw it up, you'll be fine.

Thanks. This seemed to work for me. I was having 4 failed templates, did the manual on the Smiley and News. I went to upgrade, and they were still listing as failed, but I proceeded and all appears to be fine.

Yeah, it WILL still show the errors.

You do the install, THEN do the manual edits, usually.

Still, if all works, then all's good!
