Color linked text

If one can call this a bug, I don't know but in the standard Curve theme the linked text is very hard to discern. Please choose a different color!

For what it's worth, I trawled through the old threads about this and found out which colour had been chosen by team consensus. Then I found out that the change had been reverted by the devs at the time. If anyone is interested the consensus choice was #778899. Examples follow (personally I argued against this one).

What happened to a certain decent contrast, for easy readability? That may sound old fashioned, but hey... I'd be happy to see a good reason not to, and I'm afraid this is not it.

Another option is to keep the current colour and get sneaky. Underlined links can make posts look very cluttered and awkward to read, but if you use a css bottom border on the anchor instead of an actual underline you get better possibilities. This example isn't online (it's on my local host) and has border-bottom: 1px solid #B5BECF; with underline on hover (ie: the first link in the second post).

Tortoise is an svn client. IOW, what I use to commit changes to the dev builds.

I know it is not a bad choice. It saves interminable team arguments over which colours are both visible and not fuggers.

What I used to do with RC1 was edit style.css and change the links to an appropriate color according to my chosen theme. Since style.css is no longer used (I think) you should just be able to edit index.css (haven't tried this yet) until a fix is made.

I remember the big old argument there was over the link colour in RC3 after people pointed out that RC2's was so hard to read, and RC3 had the lighter blue colour.

Was there actually anything wrong with it, since the team liked it, I don't recall anyone disliking it...

There were and will always be different opinions on an issue like this. It depends on too many subjective factors, including one's eyesight (for example, I've noticed that personally, I have problems seeing clearly text/background combinations that others see with no issues.)

Either way, this has been solved now, and the current solution will be used in 2.0 Final version.
