How Do I locate index.template.php in the Default Core Theme?

My SMF version is 1.1.12. How do I locate index.template.php in the default core theme? If I click on current theme and modify theme in the Admin Center, It does not bring out index.template.php.

you need to use FTP to access that file, or your hosts control panel and download it to your system. How do I use FTP? / What is FTP?
