When i used the package manager to go to 1.1.11 it created problems with quite a few of the mods I had in place. Now many of them wont uninstall cleanly without errors. When i tried to update to 1.1.12 I am getting an 403 area forbidden error not even finding the page needing to upgrade.

What I am wondering is, can i uninstall all of my modifications through the errors and everything. Then replace the forum with clean new files without losing my forum structure, posts images etc. Then reinstall the mods one by one with the newest versions making sure each install is clean. If so can you all please give me the best step by step process for doing this.

P.S. I am not competent with php coding

Please try uninstalling the mods to be sure, then make a backup of your database!, then upgrade using a full upgrade package.
Eventually, take a look at the instructions:
Upgrading SMF
The large upgrade package contains exactly fresh files for the entire forum.

Then, install mods back.
To-do lists are for deferral. The more things you write down the later they're done... until you have 100s of lists of things you don't do.
