Moving to a new folder from root

As a newb,

I installed SMF into my root.  I now want to move it to a new folder so that I can build a website with a link to the forum.  What files and folders need to be moved?

using ftp client take a copy of all your forum files in root, then create a folder where you want forum to be, upload those files and run repair_settings.php to change the paths in your db

btw yes its that simple, and please do not delete your old forum until you have made sure everythig is working correctly

Then, since my root is public_html and SMF is all that I have installed, I should move everything in that folder to a new folder.

Right?

in public_html create a new folder say called forum and move all the files into there, then upload repair_settings.php and sort your forum paths
