Disabling News & Newsletter in the top left above menus

Is there a way to disable News & Newsletter? I was looking through the menus and could not find it.

I'm new to SMF 2.0, so I'm still slightly lost. Google search's 1.1.12 way to turn it off wasn't there.

Edit: this is using Flint by Crip if that changes anything.

Admin>Current theme>Show news fader on board index>untick

If that doesn't work or is not shown, you will have to as Crip in the theme's support topic or on Crip's website.
