Unable to install smf_2-0-rc4 !! plzzz help

hi frendz am new to smf . . plz help me to install smf

whenever i try to install ,it shows me dis error ---

!!Critical Error!
Cannot connect to the database server with the supplied data.

If you are not sure about what to type in, please contact your host.
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) 

help me frendz . . thanks in advance

Did you
1- set up the database before running install.php?
2- set up a database user and password before running install.php?
3- use the correct connection information for the alreayd ste up database and database user/password?

If you already did that, then this is not something we can really help with....   do what the instruction says:  contact your host and ask them to help you with the correct connection information for your mySQL database

Does your host has Control Panel? if it has you can create a database at the Mysql Databases part. or you can ask your host to set it up for you and forward the details.

while saving a single letter may help when texting is charged per character, it makes you look uneducated and/or lazy on a forum with a full keyboard and no benefit to typing faster...   and using a Z in place of an S is just silly.
