yabb to smf error

I dont know if this is just me or not so I want to ask.
I am trying to convert yabb gold 1.3 to smf.

I get all the directories correct but the database password, it says it is wrong no matter what I put in so the script will not work. I know I am using the correct password. It is the same password i used when I installed smf. I installed smf through fantastico and it asked for a user name and pw for the original admin. then it automatically created the database and mysql will not let me view anything associated with it.

What do I do?

Your password isn't going to be the one you expect, unfortunately, if you used Fantastico.  It generates the database password automatically - you can find the password in Settings.php - it will look like this:

$db_passwd = 'THE PASSWORD';

It will probably be letters and numbers, and fairly long.  That's the one the installer wants (because it wants to make sure you're not a hacker or someone trying to copy the forum's data.)
