well...I installed the Gallery mod but there's no option or page for it. the Mimetex tag does not appear. there's no page for me to edit the Global Headers Footers. Users Online Today does not appear on the index page.

For Gallery you have to go to permissions and under Gallery setting check 'View SMF Gallery'
Never argue with an Idiot like myself, they just drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Jessica.

there's no Gallery Setting

I said before, none of the mods are showing up. the options/settings for them are not appearing.

You sure you have the right permissions for all files/folders?

Some hosts don't allow 777, so try 755 once :)

Reinstalling doesn't help. Changing permission doesn't work.

reinstalled Global Headers Footers, redirected me to Admin center instead of the area where I can edit it. this indicates it still hasn't shown up. NONE of the mods' settings are appearing!!!

Do you have anything related with this in your error log?

NanoSector

Note that you must be the owner of the files in order to CHMOD them.

You can most likely find a tool on your cPanel to CHOWN them.

I uploaded SMF 2.0 RC4 on another web host account. tried to upload a mod on there. was successful. but it has the same problem. the settings won't show up

before I had to create a new directory 'temp' because of an error that one of the files or whatever was not writable. I created a thread on that yesterday and I was told to create a folder 'temp'

could it be that?

No. then you would get an warning.

Ask your host if they can CHOWN and CHMOD (to 755) all of your files for you.
