Is there down time with an upgrade

I am going to help a friend upgrade from 1.1.11 to 1.1.12 and wonder if this will shut his forum down for any length of time?

Also, it is operational now, can I screw things up much.

Hi, how are you doing the upgrade? If you do it using the link in the package manger then the downtime is but a few seconds.

Also.....His site is really unstable. It has (no kidding) 150 topics. No sub-topics or organization, just a long list of topics. Is this going to be a problem?

It shouldn't change that. One way or another. All the upgrade does is to update a number of files.

You shouldn't have any problems, just upgrade via the SMF auto upgrade in the ACP and everything should go ok
