Automatic online update of mods

just being curious, seeing that Wordpress  has this function to directly update mods from the ACP, very cool, is it possible with the latest SMF?

it is possible to determine if the mod is running the most updated version if coded to check that. but at this time I dont know of any mods that would get updated from the admin panel. it is possible to download/browse mods from the admin panel though.
