http://warriorcatsrpg.com/local-loner-lands-and-pseudoclans/finding-solace...-snowclanners-118643.270.html

like, something not working right.

please don't yell at me for spamming. it is not spam. i am asking for help here. sorry to get defencive but I've been mistreated here and accused of spamming when I was only trying to show people what the problem was on my site. i dont see nothing wrong but my members are complaining.

this site is using 2.0 version. thanks for any help you got for me.

Bigguy

I don't see anything but I just scimmed through it. Your site should be updated to RC4 though.

wynnyelle

would the updating break the skins i got? if so, i cant, i paid a lot of money to have them done, now im broke, so no upgrades that are going break the themes and other custom work.

this is a post they say is messed up.

Antechinus

Ask them which browsers they are using and also get them to say exactly what their problem is.

Bigguy

From the pic it looks like a browser issue. (to me anyway)

wynnyelle

but it wasnt there before and thats a big problem, theyre complaining its all messed up, what do i do to fix it?

thanks for helping by the way, it means a lot.

Bigguy

Does this happen on the default theme as well. ???  Have you installed any new mods lately. ???

wynnyelle

no i installed nothing and i don't see it happening anywhere at all. its my members telling me it is. i havent installed anything new in a long time.

Arantor

Confirmed that it's messed up on IE7 and IE8 (here on IE7, screenshot is IE8)

Is it any other browsers? If not, then your theme designer didn't bother to test that it worked properly in IE and should be properly rebuked as he's sold you something not fit for purpose.

Ok and thanks for confirming, but then why are my other threads okay? Something is different about those two threads.

here's another thread i found that's messed up:

http://warriorcatsrpg.com/parties-and-chats/s00per-d00per-cht-116876.msg2055805.html#msg2055805

and i think i found another one, a player complaining about this one here:

http://warriorcatsrpg.com/warriors-talk/which-bookseries-are-you-currently-reading-83097.msg2055883.html#msg2055883

and this

Yeah I see it too, with IE about half way through the thread it starts to drift to the right, but with FF it renders properly. So I'd say it's an issue with the theme and IE.
Also you could tell your users to stop using IE and install FireFox

Well that's one way to do it but why isn't it also happening in other threads, some of which are much longer? Why only these 5 or 6 threads? What sets them apart?

Well I just got THIS from someone asking me about the problem:

Ok thank You I'm sorry to bug you like this and I realized its happening on any thread I am active on  :(

I confirmed, all of the busted threads have this one person on them.

No idea why it is ok for some and not for others. There was a thread in the past year (do a search) that dealt with this same issue. For the life of me I can't remember what the resolve was, but it was IE that caused issues with some themes that were not compatable with IE. You will have to contact your theme designer about this.

It is coming from one person's posts in these threads. Only threads with her posts are affected.

I get the same with IE 8. IE reports an error on the page, but I rarely trust IE. This is the error it reports-

wynnyelle

Thanks! Now to find out just what the error is and where to fix it from.

you guys are being real helpful, little by little we are solving this.

wynnyelle

all right we found a update.

It is being caused by the forum parsing HTML tags in somebody's signature.

I have the settings for HTML unchecked--that is, i told the forum not to parse HTML tags ONLY bbcode.

The forum is not listening to me.

Doesnt matter what skin I use it is happening to the smf default skin too. What is causing this?

here is their signature code in whole that is doing this

tried using the word censor to break the tags it does NOTHING

Nexusstorm

I've tried with IE8 on Windows7 using the 32bit and 64bit version of IE, and it starts to happen on large threads. Usually half way through the thread, could be a rendering issue with IE8. When I use compatibility mode on IE8 all issues go away.

When I use Chrome I can see everything fine, and the same on Safari and Firefox.

So I would say your template designer is either a MAc user or designs stuff without full testing of various browers.

I spent time testing the 3 forums I run for various Guilds and Clans I belong to in the MMO and FPS world, and with regards to IE 8 I have always had to create a separate CSS for the custom templates.
