Did you like this theme?

For SMF 2.0+ only!
This theme is a contribution to the Classic Yabb SE theme. The theme has been enhanced with new buttons, new images etc, but is still keeping the Yabb SE look.

The theme does not use image buttons, but a mix of buttons and text. This means all languages will work out of the box for this theme.

Most buttons in the theme can be shown in 3 ways - as text buttons, as text and image buttons and finally as just buttons.
You change the look by going to Admin -> Current theme -> "Show buttons as images instead of text:"

If you are adding new buttons via mods or similar, you can add buttonfaces by running the button creation through the template_button_strip() function. You then also need to add the name of the new button in the function.

You are allowed to copy this theme as base for other SMF themes where you want to use borders. You are also allowed to use all images from the theme in other SMF themes.

Yes excellent, also one of my favo themes! Thanks  ;)

Akyhne

Thanks! It took quite a while to make this theme. It needed quite a lot of .css changes to make the theme work with borders.

Updated a few images in the theme and finalized the 3 ways to show buttons (see first post).

Is it possible to remove the search from the top, and take the user and related info over to the right? SO it looks even more classic?

Sure, if you have the skills and the time.

I believe one of the customizers is working on a Yabb SE Classic theme that is 100% the old style.

yakyakyak

very nice theme this and from recent work with it and mods in 2.0 edits have proved unnecessary as opposed to other themes alongside that have required many

Brings back the days of YABB SE :) (damn I was so young then...)

I'm getting a ton of identical errors:

8: Undefined variable: key
File: /var/www/html/smf/Themes/Yabb_SE_Next_Gen_SMF2/Themes.template.php (pick sub template - eval?)
Line: 709

Any ideas? Any other information I need to provide? Thanks in advance.

Akyhne

Fixed. You don't need to upload the whole theme, just replace the Themes.template.php

nightwulf

That was quick?!

Replaced just Themes.template.php and the error appears to be gone. Thanks very much!

Hello Akyhne,

I have Simple Portal on my forum and as you can see on the picture there is something not oké on the leftside on the block. How can I make this please?
I also installed the following but no change.
Copy the included file "portal.css" to "./Themes/yourtheme/css".
Copy the included file "portal_rtl.css" to "./Themes/yourtheme/css".
Copy the included file "portal.js" to "./Themes/yourtheme/scripts".
