Prevent posting in one board but allow posting in child boards?

Hello,

Running SMF RC4 and trying to figure out the permissions.

I have one board that has many child boards.  I want to prevent members from posting in the top level board, but allow them to post in all the child boards under it.

How and where do I set the permissions to accomplish this please.

Admin > Forum > Boards > (find the Board then) Modify > Permission Profile >  change "Default" to "Read Only" then click Save.
