Personal Text - Char limit

How do i remove the charatcer limit from personal text? thanks

The limit is kept there for performance reasons. It would make things quite a bit slower if it were extended.

I just want to raise it up a little.

It's capped at 50 characters in case of entity changes, changing that means making the database field bigger, otherwise there is a decent chance of characters getting broken (which breaks other things). Making the field bigger in 1.1.x means moving it to a text field from a tinytext field, which has a fairly dramatic performance change.

How far, exactly did you want to raise it up?

Sure it's *possible* but it comes with either slowing your forum down or performance hits... Out of interest why do you need it? I guarantee it will look bad in your forum when you have too long a text anyway.

I wanted to use it like the Custom Status feature on xmb. But i just realized that i can´t use bbcode on it, unless i edit at the db.

Do you know if there is any mod that allows custom status? thanks for your time.

Use the custom profile field mod, can do what you want.
