I have a 1.1.3 forum, and a 2.0 forum

i wanna move members, and posts from the former to the latter..

ive searched but cant find anything...

can anyone help?

Masterd

So, you want to upgrade from SMF 1.1.13 to SMF 2. RC5?

tvkahani

hmmm yes this is what i want without losing posts, and members...

I installed both the forums on my host

www.tvkahani.com/forum

and

www.tvkahani.com/forums

can I move members from one forum to another OR update is the only option?
I tried reading update question but im confused.

Which file to exactly download?

Masterd

Upgrade the first forum and then merge the databases.

tvkahani

I can't merge them without upgrading the first one?

Secondly, there r 2-3 files for upgrade.. which one to exactly download?

There is but not that super-duper easy.

1. Download http://download.simplemachines.org/index.php?thanks;filename=smf_2-0-rc5_upgrade.zip
2. Upload to tvkahani.com/forums
3. using cpanel or FTP , edit the "Settings.php" file, ( ..public_html/forums/Settings.php)
4. change the database info from new to old one.
5. Browse to Upgrade.php and follow the procedure.

Dont worry , ;) Just take a database backup and proceed.
