Upgrading from 1.1.13 to 2.0 RC5 incorrect username????? Help Please !

trying to upgrade from 1.1.13 to 2.0 RC5 (using large upgrade package)

- Files Uploaded
- Directories etc CHMOD'd to 777

When I enter my admin username (very complex includes non standard characters) I get the error message:
   
"Username Incorrect"

Went into PHPadmin and temporarily changed my username to something simple, just to see if it was the complex name and got further but got this message:

"Incorrect Password"

Is there any known issue with complex usernames? or non standard characters?

Why won't it let me log in with the username changed through PHPadmin? Is the password hashed using the username?

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

ps Not keen to disable security and go ahead as if there is a problem with my username and SMF 2.0 I won't be able to log in and will have to reinstall the old forum from my backups !

Having the same problem. Incorrect login info. Where do I find the correct one.

In the end I over-rode security as advised on that page, did the install, and gladly when the scripts had run I could log in with my usual credentials. I made a backup admin account first though with simple plain text log in details as a safety measure and during the whole process I redirected everyone other than my IP address to a WIP page using htaccess.

I did have one major problem - I was set to use a modified SMF 1.1x theme before upgrade and after upgrade I still was on that theme - which was highly dysfunctional when paired with SMF 2.0 ! I would recommend setting your theme to core before running the scripts if you are on another theme.
