I installed Apache and PHP to start hosting a forum on my own computer. I don't know anything about PHP. But the following happened:

When I enter my IP"xx.xx.xx.xx/install.php"

It only show a bunch of code. Reloaded the page and I got 'Sorry this installer require PHP, etc, etc.'

Help? (I am a complete noob about PHP so no dumb/mean comments. Please.  :P)

Hi,

It looks like you have a webserver running, something like apache, but you dont have php installed. You need php so that you can run smf, smf is coded in php and requires php to be installed so you can view the pages.

Yes, Either PHP is not installed at all, or your server is misconfigured so that it doesn't know how to handle .php files.

I have PHP installed. Mis-configured? Oh my. -.-' More config files. Oh well. Thanks for the help.

@Illori.
No comment at all

EDIT: Now the monitor say: Apache/2.2.17 (Win32) PHP 5.3.5
I configured the 2 lines on the end of the config file in Apache.
Still not handling .PHP files correctly. . . . . .  :'(

There are a lot of good tutorials on setting up Apache with PHP on the web,
one such basic guide can be found here http://www.developer.com/lang/php/article.php/912381/Learning-PHP-Installing-and-Configuring.htm

I did as it is written on that page. Still not working.

I tried as module. Apache can't even FIND the .dll even when it's there. The other way = Nothing not responding at all. This is making me go crazy..

you might get more help if you post in the server configuration board, someone may have more of an idea there then people here.

As I can see this issue is making better progress already on the other board, I'll mark this topic solved for now :)
