Hey there...

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to show/split separate columns for Replies and Views rather than a single column in my theme?

You know... my theme has replies and views in one column on top of each other, any way to show them in separate columns or is that theme-specific?

Thanks!

The only way to do this is editing the theme files, ask the theme author.

The combined [Posts/Views] into a single columns really suck! I don't know what SMF is thinking? It looks crowded and very very unprofessional. I m protesting for this to get changed in the next RC. It's still 1 column for both in the RC5. Not good. Also, the started by in the same Subject makes it sooooooooooooooooo unprofessional and it's crowded in that area as well. Leave the subject field alone for crying out loud and DO NOT combine posts/views in the same column. Every else is great. It's just the views that suck.

Oh by the way, how do we modify that post/views column? hehe LoL.

Waste of time, it won't be changed now. The whole point is that we're supposed to be on the run up to final, so the more changes there are, the later final will be.

Oh, and it's only been heading towards 2 years (at least) since this was put in place, there really haven't been that many complaints.

There's a mod for it.

lol I don't know how having Replies and Views in the same column makes everything look "unprofessional", but okay. :P

May be it's just me. I m used to the old layout with separate columns. When you put everything in one spot, we hardly see everything. It's like when you write 5 page essay without breaking paragraphs, commas, and periods. In other words, it's kindergarten thing. So my input here should help SMF to be better but it's up to SMF to make decision. Everything decision it makes, it either win or lose users. It's just my 2 cents.

As a matter of fact after creating those mods and using them for a while on my forum, I liked SMF style of one single more as it gives a more broader look to your Message Index, rather than having 6 columns on it. My personal opinion is SMF default layout is much better.

The Separated Views/Posts columns Mods show "Test failed" for Separate Replies and Views Column by Joker. However, VB Style BoardIndex seems OK.

Thanks.

For which theme, as for me on fresh RC5 this mod is getting installed without any problem (Default curve theme of course).
