Upgrade to RC5 Killed site

I attempted to upgrade from RC3 to RC5 using the major upgrade package.

The upgrade seemed to go ok, but when I tried to get back into the site I see the following error message

Fatal error:  Call to undefined function chatOnlineUsers() in /home/kinkyv/public_html/forums/Sources/Load.php(2162) : eval()'d code on line 222

I think there is a conflict with one of the mods I have installed, I took a look at line 222 and at line 2162 in load.php and do not see any obvious errors.

I think at this point what I want to do is go back to RC3 if that is possible.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Hi, did you uninstall all of your mods before doing the upgrade?

Did you overwrite all of your files with those from the upgrade package? Including the ones for the themes.

If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer. If that fails, read the manual.

No, I did not uninstall any of the mods, I followed the instructions in the readme file contained in the upgrade and it did not mention uninstalling the mods.

I am pretty sure that what was in the ugrade kit overwrote all of the themes etc when I put  them into the main directory.

My usual practice is to first unzip an upgrade and look at files etc locally, then I copy the zip to the working file and unzip it there, in most cases that will overwrite all of the existing files with the same name.

That is what I did this time, so it is what it is.  If I need to uninstall anything I think I need to get back to RC3, I can try moving the load.php file from the RC3 package up to the site, but I don't think that is going to buy me anything since I think that file was probably modified by some of the mods.

Installed mods are stored in the database now so it's wise to uninstall them first. But that not the main problem.

Re-upload all the files again. Start with the theme files and then the files in the Sources folder. Since you didn't uninstall your mods and it looks like one of the files is still calling for the shoutbox. I'm suspecting that all of the files weren't uploaded correctly.

Is that the default theme you are using?

uninstalling mods should not be necessary, re-installing a mod after the upgrade will not duplicate the database stuff, it will just set it to re-use the existing database stuff.

What happened, I believe is
You upgraded, which replaced the Sources and Themes/default directory/files, BUT you are using a custom theme which still has mod edits in it.

So, what you need to do is
a) get a clean copy of your custom theme and overwrite those files as well - then re-install mods
b) reinstall your mods, but DO NOT select the option to install in your custom theme (the edits are already there)
