The board doesn't delete files on my server

When I delete avatars and attachments on my board, the files are being left on the server. Is this a server config error?

no deleting them from the board just make them unaccessable to the board to completly delete them you need to delete from board and then ONLY AFTER DELETING FROM BOARD delete from server
