what have I done now?

Before, when I was going to send a PM or email, or select someone to be a moderator, when I started typing the users name, a suggetion of names would popup on entry of about the 3 letter of their user name.  All of a sudden, that is no longer working.  What did I do that could have disabled that feature?  I have searched but to yet find no why to turn in back on.

Hello there.

Do you have something in your error log maybe?
Have you tried that with different browsers?

 These are a few of the oldest logs that I still have. Unfortunately I cleared them around the time this problems showed up.  I am pretty new at this and error logs don't yet mean much to me.  I know some of them are related to an issue with the ad management mod.    Thanks of any help.

Other Thought. I do remember that I upgraded Google Earth about the time that this started.  GE wanted to make Chrome my default Browers and I denied it. All I can remember doing on the machine it's self.

More likely to be a Javascript error... what browser are you using? (That way I might be able to tell you where to look for Javascript errors...)

I have a test uers that I can pm you the name and password if you will allow me to.  It is a normal user but I can make it an temp admin for this purpose, if you prefer

I could be wrong but this looks more like a browser issue and not a problem with SMF. You know where the browser cache holds all your key strokes, then when you enter something in an input field it shows possible choices?

If you are using IE look in Internet Options under Content, and settings for Autocomplete. I don't use the other browsers so I don't know if they have this too

thanks road, but they were all set with no changes since I last set them. I only use IE8 on Win7, I deleted Chrome that was auto installed when I updated Google Earth. Cleaned all PC, IE8, and SMF cache rebooted.   I did install some mod about the same time, I may go do some uninstalls to see if this fixes the problems.  Thanks

Just wanted to say that you should also chek if you have file Modlog.english.php in Themes/default/languages, and if not you should upload one from original install package.

Although you have a number of mods installed we can not tell exactly which one is cousting problem (if this is that kind of problem), but one more thing that you can do is large upagrade.

Oh well, just a thought cause I'm not aware of any code in SMF that would affect AutoComplete functions. Though as you said it could be a recent mod install. Good luck with that  ;)
