Trying to upgrade...

I have been trying to update my SMF version 1.1.11 to 1.1.13. Every time I try, it reverts back to 1.1.11.  I did have the chat board before I tried to update, and since the try- I have lost the chat board.



can someone help me get this thing straight again?

in what way does it revert back to 1.1.11? what are you doing that makes your chat get lost?

Actually another forum moderator did the update to the server several times- and it shows that the current version is still 1.1.11 and telling us that an update is available .  I tried once and ended up with the same result. 1.1.11.

Before the update attempt, we had the chat board running at the top of the page. now- its not there!

in what way are you trying to do the upgrade? package manager upgrade? uploading fresh files? more details and we may be able to help you. sounds like your files got overwritten in some way, and/or your files are not writable by your server so the upgrade is failing.

I tried the
"Update Available!
You're using an outdated version of SMF, which contains some bugs which have since been fixed. It is recommended that you update your forum to the latest version as soon as possible. It only takes a minute!"

Also, how did you go about upgrading?

Personally, I suspect the server for the failure to update!

Oh, dear...

What you need to do, is use the large upgrade package.

Instructions are in the archive, in a read_me.

This sounds like a Shoutbox mod.

Probably, yes.

The upgrade will have removed the call to it.

Easy enough to put back, though, depending on which box it is.
