Tranfering

Hi
I biult a replica version of a forum both with the same host (main one has some gliches).(both are identical now as i have copied everything over.)

1. The first (main one) has a directory like www.mysite.co.uk/theforum , the new one is www.mysite.co.uk/forum
2. Am i right in thinking that i could just change the new folder name "forum" to "theforum" (via ftp) and then upload "repair settings" so that everything points to the right directories?

Want to check before i proceed.

That should be fine, its good practise to take a backup of the database and SMF directory when making changes like this so you have something to fall back on if you run into problems.

Always a good idea to have a recent database copy too in any event. There is almost zero risk of anything bad happening here as your just moving files to another folder though.

But whenever you do anything - backup - backup and backup!
