it does not hurt to test other OS's as we have not been able to duplicate the issue. Since the os and firefox are built differently to each os it could act somewhat differently.

You dont have to test it on every OS available, Firefox will remain the same.
Really :o, if that's the case then I'm afraid you are wrong.

Used the same PC on which I've installed Windows 7 few days ago for windows XP SP3 testing.

Exactly same behavior came out as Illori described, post content was there in both cases
- Without attachment (but post button worked in this case)
- With very large attachment (post button got freezed in this case).

And on Windows7 32 bit and 64 bit, for me the issue is still same, i.e in normal reply post content vanishes when you come back to the page.

You are making my point. Thanks.

@ Illori: The browser code does not change depending on the OS (only with some crappy browsers). Only the look (GUI, theme) will change (no Aero on XP).

interesting, at least we have confirmed the issue i have seen.

and Yoshi that did not prove your point at all.

Arantor

-sigh-

<insert choice swearwords> Who cares? You've replicated the bug, and sufficiently so that you've established it's not an OS issue but a Firefox one since it occurs on FF without any plugins - and has done so for a long time.

Kindly knock off the sniping at each other. Instead, you probably should look into spending some time in actually fixing the problem...

Yoshi either you don't read properly or you don't want to read it at all. I said this

Let me get that fact more straight for you (Yoshi),

- On same PC i.e same hardware configuration and with same browser version, just a change of OS is making the behavior of script different.

Yoshi do you know anything about how to compile a program? i dont think so, things have to be done custom for some OS's to compile the app, which means it may vary on each os. it does not hurt to test on more then one os for this reason. Also if the app is complied for 64 bit support it could be slightly different to a 32 bit.

@ Arantor: Which is what I am trying to say but apparently they think Im stupid or something.

@ Illori: I know damn well how to compile a program, and the only difference I can make is what kerne is used (Unix or DOS).

I am going to quit this discussion.

Safari 5.1.2 (Pre-release) - Still there

Quick reply:
Google Chrome 15.0.874.121 - Still there
Safari 5.1.2 (Pre-release) - Still there

3. Safari Back/Forward cache disabled

Full reply (non-WYSIWYG): Still there.
Full reply (WYSIWYG): Gone
Quick reply: Still there

Google Chrome seems to suffer from the issue in the WYSIWYG editor, because it has no back/forward cache which reloads the page exactly as it was before.
When disabling Safari's back/forward cache the same problem occurs.

(I'm registered as Apple Developer for Safari, for testing stuff in pre-releases)

Also lol at my noobiness above. Heh, I'm ashamed xd

As this is on Github (where all information is being co-ordinated), plus duplicating another thread where further debugging information is available, going to move to closed.
