1.1.13 to RC5

I give up, used search function couldnt find a topic explaining how to upgrade clearly from 1.1.13 to RC5

Keep getting this message:
The package you tried to upload either is not a valid package or has become corrupted.
How?

When I use WebInstall it gets an error at step 3.

Please help, sorry if repost.

the webinstall is broken, please use normal methods to upgrade. Upgrading SMF

Had to dell all files from FTP, but done and did new full install of RC5.

But, Ive lost  my members, posts, threads etc

I have the back up on my desktop, how can i upload this?

do you still have your database backup? if not then you may have lost it all. you could ask your host if they have a database backup if you dont.

Yeah I have it on my desktop, plus have it on host cpanel.

Just dont know how to adjust/upload it to new forum  any advice?

so your current database is still in place? you just installed the 2.0 in a new database? then you should upload the large upgrade package to your current location of the 1.1.13 files and then run upgrade.php

Im getting:
Data Base Error
Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator.

The threads and members are there, but cant log in either.

Please Help.

You installed RC5 and tried to import a database from v1.1.13...

If that's the case, it ain't gonna work. No way, no how, not never.

You have a backup, surely?

Restore the backup.

Once it's there, you can upgrade to RC5.

You have the database.

That's where the members posts are. Panic not.

remember to upgrade the database you need to run upgrade.php which is included in the large upgrade package
