Help installing

I'm very new at this. I think I have done it right up to the point of using filezilla, but I'm not sure. I would really appreciate it if someone could take the time to walk me through this. Thanks in advance.

I have. I'm still a little confused.

The part where you use filezilla, or something similar to it.      Other wise I think I have done it right up to this point.

Okay. I have filezilla. What I don't understand is about the folder thing. Where do I make the folder that holds the files for my site that has to do with filezilla?

you should be looking for a www folder or a public_html or similar folder and put your forum files there if you want them in the main folder of your website.

do you have a folder by one of those names on your server when you log into your ftp client?

No. But I do have htdocs.

ok then use htdocs and upload your smf files into that folder if you want smf to be your main website otherwise you can create a folder in there and put the files in that subfolder.

Alright. I have done that. Do I add other files into there besides the SMF Things? If not, what do I do now?

all of the files in the install zip are now on your server? have you created a database? then you need to run install.php script.
