I just took out the post count out of my community... the spam was so annoying and there were starting to be conflicts between members

if they really care for the community content, they'll post, no need to count posts, words or characters... at least that's what I think

i think you're right, Anguz.  post count does encourage posting, but also spam.  it would be nice if you could find a way to keep a balance between the two.

the balance I found, was to remove the stars (post based ones) and post count from the member's info in each message, but just that

the board still counts the posts and in the profile they show, same in stats, but since it's not everyware, they're not so aware of that all the time and can forget about it

if an idiot in my community starts using the profile and stats ones to keep competing, I'll remove those displays too

I took the forum offline for a while, to do some prunning and re-organization... also will change the look and upgrade to SMF before putting it back

but I didn't really close it, just change the directory's name and didn't tell anyone the new one

what i do, is leave the old board up.  then, i make a new directory somewhere and install a new board.  when i'm done with it, i just move the old one to a new directory, and move the new one into it's place.

Thats why we have -moderation-
I figure moderating many short useless spams is kinda useless and so I only do it when really necasary... but moderating a LONG spammy post I'd do
Also... I dont think I'll call it posts or "Letters" or whatever... it'll have a special name so they dont really know -how- they get it (It'll be divided by 1000 or something of course)
