Hello all, how do I get the "recent posts" at the bottom of the page like in v1.1.12?

You need to go to Admin > Current Theme and under Theme Options and Preferences set the option 'Number of recent posts to display on board index' to be whatever number you want, its set to zero by default which will disable it.
